The football field inside the campus of the La Salle Science and Technology Complex hosted an Ang Liga goalfest for its Saturday doubleheader, combining for fifteen goals.
The first match of the day sees National University pound San Beda for a 5-1 victory. The Bulldogs netted braces from Francis Mbei and Lawrence Colina in the victory, which allowed them to extend their lead in Division I to five points over the University of the Philippines, Lyceum, and the College of Saint Benilde.
Colina opened scoring in the 19th minute, with Mbei making it a 2-0 halftime lead in the 35th minute. The latter didn't take long to get his brace, as it took place a minute into the restart, while the former secured his in the 84th minute.
San Beda manages to get on the board through their skipper Aljo Zabala in the 88th minute, but NU finishes things off in injury time with a curling effort from Patrick Valenzuela.
All was not lost on San Beda, as the Red Cubs manage to throttle Ateneo in their Div II matchup, 9-0. Mariano Suba tacked on a hat trick in a span of eight minutes against the Blue Eaglets to lead the way. Miguel Pasion and Jimmar Castillo contributed a goal in each half for their respective braces, while completing the scoring for the Taytay-based squad are Christian Neil Heath and Reinhard Colasito.
San Beda's win moved them into a tie with their victims, with the massive goal difference allowing them to take third place.
