Adamson almost into UAAP Final Four

Adamson put themselves at the cusp of officially entering the postseason with a 90-77 victory over National University at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Soaring Falcons used a 21-5 blazing start to open the game, and never looked back, riding on the hot shooting of Jerrick Ahanmisi, Jun Espeleta, and Rob Manalang against the Bulldogs. Espeleta would even convert a halfcourt heave to put Adamson ahead at the half, 57-35, as the trio combined to almost match NU's output with 33 points

With the lead ballooning to as large as 28 points, Jamike Jarin's side would eventually gather their bearings and managed to eventually cut the lead down to as low as nine with over four minutes left in the fourth quarter and again with 48 seconds remaining thanks to triples from J-jay Alejandro, but the Falcons did respond to both instances in order to preserve the victory.

Both Ahanmisi and Espeleta would finish with sixteen points each, with both players converting four triples. Alejandro would lead all scorers in this game with eighteen points. The veteran guard also helped fill in the absence of Matt Salem due to dengue by grabbing ten rebounds.

Adamson's victory is their eighth for the season, and either will just need a win in their remaining schedule or either Far Eastern University or the University of the Philippines lose one of their remaining assignments. It also keeps their hopes for a shot at the twice-to-beat advantage alive, provided La Salle loses its remaining assignments and the Soaring Falcons win out.

NU drops to 4-7 and missed out on a chance to be in a three-way-tie for the final postseason berth alongside FEU and UP. (c/o Kim Karlo Castro)
