As Adamson crept closer and closer to making a return to the UAAP postseason, they were inspired by the contributions of Jerrick Ahanmisi.
The Soaring Falcons won both of their games in the past week, with the sweet-shooting sophomore playing a major role in both.
Last Wednesday, Jerrick led all scorers in their 75-70 win over the University of Santo Tomas with 21 points, with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter, including two huge baskets that helped preserve the victory. He would then follow that up this past Sunday with 16 points on 4/8 three-point shooting in a 90-77 victory over National University, as he teamed up with Jun Espeleta and Rob Manalang to abuse the Bulldogs with their perimeter shooting.
His performance this past week was enough for the UAAP Press Corps to reward him with the Player of the Week nod, presented by Chooks-To-Go, beating out Paul Desiderio, Ricci Rivero, and Thirdy Ravena.
Even though his performance was stellar and allows Adamson to remain within striking distance of La Salle for the second seed, Jerrick still views things as part of the learning process for the Falcons, considering they had to fend off the Growling Tigers and also deal with the Bulldogs making an attempted comeback in the final quarter. He says, "I think we should learn from that. We should have not let them (NU) come back like that."
