Jr. NBA Philippines All-Stars in China

Your Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA All-Stars just outside the Mercedes-Benz Arena
Earlier this month, the sixteen Jr. NBA All-Stars flew to Shanghai, China to partake of the NBA basketball experience, which included watching the NBA China Games preseason matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves, which ended up in the defending champions' favor, 142-110.

The Jr. NBA All-Stars also got the chance to meet Jerome Williams, who emphasized training and conditioning as an important element needed in aspiring to make the jump to the pros. One thing that the "Junkyard Dog" shared during his session with the All-Stars was how the stuff one does prior to the game form the basis for one's greatness.

In addition, the Pinoys got to strut their stuff against their counterparts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, eventually nabbing the boys' 3-on-3 title and a semifinal run for the girls'.

Aside from  all of these, the All-Stars also got to partake of the local cuisine and see the local landmarks like tourists do.

Jr. NBA Coaches Chris Sumner and Natalia Andre provided intense basketball training, specifically with skills exercises and drills in shooting, passing, footwork, post-up, and under-the-basket plays. At the same time, these are complemented by the STAR core values: sportsmanship, teamwork, a positive attitude, and respect.
