La Salle survives a late scare from Adamson, 80-74, to remain in solo second in the UAAP Season 80 men's basketball tournament on Saturday afternoon at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Santi Santillan led the charge for the Green Archers, ending up with sixteen points on 7/10 shooting, along with ten rebounds and some crucial baskets in the final stretch. He scored five points and grabbed five rebounds in the final period.
The Soaring Falcons started off strong, leading by as much as ten points in the first half, before the defending eventually tying things up at 35.
La Salle would then show their poise and composure, getting an eight-point lead at 67-59, and even if Adamson managed to answer by erecting a 72-71 lead off two Jun Espeleta free throws, an Andrei Caracut triple with 95 seconds remaining served as the final lead change of the game.
Jerrick Ahanmisi and Papi Sarr led the charge for the Soaring Falcons with 17 points each.
La Salle remains in second place at 8-2, while Adamson drops to 6-4. (c/o Kim Karlo Castro)
