Women's Football Matches Saturday at the UP Football Stadium
4 p.m. – FEU vs UP
6:30 p.m. – Ateneo vs UST
FAR Eastern University and University of Santo Tomas battled to a goalless draw to split points in the UAAP Season 87 men’s football tournament at the UP Football Stadium Thursday.
The Tamaraws remained in second place with 17 points and were ruing with the outcome.
"Well it's not a good result, we needed the three points to push Ateneo," said FEU's Spanish coach Roman Oliver.
"We’re making now big matches here so we’re not happy about that it was difficult game tough game physical game we had our chances but we miss it, when you miss it too much you dont win," he added.
The Golden Booters, who are still in the Final Four range, were able to savage a point.
UST, which suffered a stunning 1-2 loss to last-place Adamson University Sunday, moved up to 13 points.
Marc Celis' 86th minute attempt was saved by defender Chris Valderama, who was there at the right place at the right time after goalkeeper Jose Miguel Abada left the post.
Carlo Hulagno had a chance to give the Tamaraws the win in stoppage time but the substitute could not complete Edgar Aban's corner.
FEU, which opened the second round with back-to-back wins, is up for a tough battle. The Tamaraws will take on the Blue Eagles on Nov. 21.
Up next for UST is University of the East also on Nov. 21.
