Suzara named as FIVB EVP

The responsibilities of Ramon Suzara gets bigger and bigger in 2024.

Tats, fresh from being elected as the Asian Volleyball Confederation president weeks back, has been named as an executive vice president of the sport's international body, the FIVB, during its 39th General Assembly and Elections in Porto, Portugal.

Suzara will serve for the next four years under Fabio Azevedo, after the Brazilian was selected as the new president.

In being tapped for the position, he says, "It’s a great distinction and honor to be named as executive vice president of the FIVB because it will give Philippine volleyball great opportunities ahead."

He adds, "Not only will our national teams benefit, but the entire Philippine volleyball... We are very thankful to the FIVB, former president Dr. Ary Graça, and new president Fabio Azevedo for trusting me as new FIVB executive vice president."

Also joining Suzara in representing the PNVF at the congress by vice president Ricky Palou, secretary-general Don Caringal, and director Tonyboy Liao.

Aside from being elected, he also made a presentation of a comprehensive preview of the Philippines hosting preparations for the upcoming FIVB Men's World Championships to the collective body.

The grand competition is set to take place on September 12-28 next year.
