NCAA All-Star Game Set

Later this afternoon, the best of the best in the NCAA will get to strut their stuff in NCAA All-Star Game. Coverage starts at 130pm on S+A and S+A HD, as well as on sports.abs-cbn.com.

In a new quirk compared to the past couple of seasons, the league will have Heroes vs Saints as the teams.

All religious-linked schools (San Beda, San Sebastian, College of Saint Benilde, Perpetual Help System Dalta, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran) are blanketed under the Saints banner, with the other schools (Lyceum, Mapua, Arellano, Jose Rizal University, and Emilio Aguinaldo College) bracketed as part of the Heroes group.

Boyet Fernandez of defending champions San Beda will be tasked to coach the Saints, while Topex Robinson of currently undefeated Lyceum will be tasked to coach the Heroes.

The breakdown of NCAA All-Star Game participants can be seen below:

Before the game itself, the schools are to have the different skills competitions.

The Skills Challenge puts to the test one's passing and dribbling capabilities, with some of the best guard in the NCAA set to participate. (Michael Are, Ranbill Tongco, Jeremiah Taladua, Unique Naboa, Karl Bordon, Francis Munsayac, Keith Pido, Jaycee Marcelino, Levi Dela Cruz, and JP Nieles)

The Shooting Stars Challenge sees all ten schools field a trio composed of a high school, colleigate, and a graduate, to see which can make baskets from the different locations inside the court.

The Three-Point Shootout is there to see who is the best marksman from deep, with some of the best shooters in the NCAA set to participate. (Brylle Meca, Matt Johnson, Sydney Onwubere, Mark Dela Virgen, Jerick Balanza, Wilson Baltazar, Almel Orquina, Jack Hao, RK Ilagan, and AC Soberano)

The Slam Dunk Contest is there to see who is the best from the high-flyers, with a star-studded group of judges (Jimmy Alapag and Ray Parks from Alab Pilipinas, comedian Empoy, Kapamilya actress Ria Atayde, and a member of the NCAA Press Corps) grading them. (Allyn Bulanadi, Arnaud Noah, Renato Ular, Justin Gutang, Jefferson Sarmiento, Rustan Bugarin, Yancy Remulla, and Lervin Flores)

Aside from the basketball and side events, Inigo Pascual will be performing at the half.

With the official NCAA schedule for the second already being made available, the NCAA has put to a close its "NCAA On Tour," a novel concept to bring in actual NCAA games at certain school gyms to reflect a "truer" home court advantage and rouse school spirit, while also providing quality entertainment in the form of perfromances from Kapamilya talents.
