CSB, UP secure Sunday Ang Liga wins

Favored sides College of Saint Benilde and the University of the Philippines held firm in their respective matchups on Sunday afternoon at the Ang Liga tournament held inside the La Salle-Canlubang campus.

In the first part of the doubleheader, the Blazers defeated Emilio Aguinaldo College, 1-0, with Daniel Liozo scoring the only goal of the match in the 44th minute.

The second part of the doubleheader featured the Maroons taking out Perpetual Help System Dalta, 4-0. Karl Bugayong opened the scoring for the Anto Gonzales-coached side in the 15th minute with a header, followed by Kintaro Miyagi at the 30-minute mark.

Compounding the Altas' woes was Bryll Espina's dismissal at the 32nd minute mark. UP would then work on their personnel advantage, providing Miyagi's brace in the 36th minute that capped the scoring in the first half. Fidel Tacardon would complete the scoring in the 81st minute of the second half.

Both CSB and UP moved up the standings, earning nine points from three wins, although the latter has the advantage in goal difference whilst the former has a game in hand.

Meanwhile, both EAC and Perpetual remain winless and goalless in Div I play.
