Heading into the El Gran Derbi this weekend against Sevilla FC, Real Betis will need another excellent effort from one of their key transfers this past window.
Giovani Lo Celso has filled in the hole left by the departure of Nabil Fekir for the Los Verdiblancos quite nicely. His return to LALIGA sees him score five goals in his five appearances, and with Isco currently sidelined, the midfielder has ably taken on the additional responsibilities.
Manuel Pellegrini seems to have given the Argentine international free reign to roam and direct attacks, controlling the game and dictating the rhythm and flow. In their matchup against RCD Espanyol, he scored the game-winner late to snatch the three points and keep themselves within distance of the top contenders.
Real Betis have yet to win at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in the last six years, and they hope that with Lo Celso in tow, this feat can be checked off the list.
