For the upcoming 87th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, league will feature three divisions of basketball to kickstart its campaign.
Aside from the collegiate matchups for men and women, the league will integrate the junior high school basketball matches, which made its debut earlier this year, onto the first semester events.
The Under-16 division will take place as the first couple of games on a six-game bill, followed by the women's matches and capping the day with the evening games.
For opening weekend, only one game is scheduled after the opening ceremonies, as this season's hosts, the University of the Philippines goes up against the Ateneo de Manila University in men's action at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum at 630pm.
The next day at the same venue will have the remains men's basketball matchups: University of the East versus the University of Santo Tomas, Adamson University against Far Eastern University, and De La Salle University versus National University.
JHS action will formally make its season debut at the Adamson Gym, alongside the women's basketball matchups between Ateneo and UP and La Salle and NU.
UP has planned an extraordinary opening, which is slated at 11am, highlighted by a performance by the iconic band, the Eraserheads.
All of the basketball games will be broadcast on the UAAP Varsity Channel, as well through Pilipinas Live, with collegiate games to be shown via One Sports.
