KD coming. |
Sponsored by Nike, the back-to-back NBA champion and Finals MVP will be in the country on July 8 with the objective of sharing his stories of self-belief and uncompromising drive to Filipino basketball fans, no matter what circumstances they face in life.
Durant aims to share the lessons the brought him from the DMV to Texas and to the NBA. Such lessons include the countless hours he spent in the gym to hone his game, his sacrifices for the love of the game, to going beyond the fear of failure. He wants Filipino ballers to push harder every time, even when they are already at the top of their game. KD is set to spread the word and belief of giving one's relentless focus and commitment to the game with consistency, on and off the court at all times.
For the Manila visit, a champion's welcome will be held at 9th Avenue across the Nike Park Fort inside Bonifacio Global City at around 1230pm, where fans who turn up can get the opportunity to see KD in person, then followed by a meet-and-greet with a select group of Nike members and fans at the store.
There will also be a training session with selected ballers who have been consistently raising their game with the Nike Hyper Court. He would be sharing some of those workouts, drills, and inspirational beliefs at the KD Nike Hyper Court Team All-Star Challenge inside the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Nike Philippines Country Marketing Manager Jino Ferrer shares, "We are thrilled to have Kevin Durant with us this time around for the first time ever in Manila. Fresh off a recent amazing season, this is an opportune moment to welcome and celebrate his journey of hard work and perseverance, which brings him to where he is today, with all aspiring Filipino ballers. We hope he will also be able to feel and experience the enthusiasm of the Filipinos’ puso, where basketball lies at the heart of the nation."
