Adamson dispatched the University of the Philippines this past Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum, 86-70, in what turned out to be an intense matchup.
The Soaring Falcons rode on the brute strength of Papi Sarr and the methodical orchestration of Jerie Pingoy to dispatch the Fighting Maroons. Sarr finished with 25 points and 17 rebounds, while Pingoy contributed fifteen points, four rebounds, eight assists, and six steals.
The Maroons tried their best to whittle down a lead as large as 23 points, managing to get it down to 74-66 through a 16-3 run, but a 12-0 response by the Falcons ensured the win was theirs.
Paul Desiderio and Jun Manzo combined for 35 points, nine rebounds, and four assists to lead the Maroons.
With their ninth win of the season, Adamson is now assured of the third seed, while UP falls to 5-7, one game behind Far Eastern University for the last postseason slot. (c/o Kim Karlo Castro)
