The Philippines Football Federation called up 23 players for senior national team duty for the upcoming Chinese-Taipei Football Association International Tournament.
The CTFA tournament is scheduled to take place this coming December 1-5 at the Municipal Stadium in Taipei. Aside from the hosts, Laos and Timor Leste have been invited to participate.
With the Finals Series about to commence, the PFF has opted to call-up mostly players not participating in the inaugural postseason of the Philippines Football League. As the matches are not within the FIFA international window, clubs are also not obligated to release their players. In addition, they also plucked from the U22 team that recently participated in subcontinental competition. The federation sees the participation in this tournament as an opportunity for the younger and less experienced players to show their potential.
Speaking of the U22, the Azkals in this tourney will be coached by Marlon Maro, assisted by Popoy Clarino, Marlon Pinero, Ronoel Garfin, and Ramoncito Carreon. Davao Aguilas owner Jefferson Cheng serves as Team Manager.
