The Final Four for the UAAP Season 80 men's basketball tournament will start this weekend, with the same four teams from last season.
Kicking things off are second seeds La Salle against the third seeds Adamson at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum, with the Green Archers own a twice-to-beat advantage.
Both meetings saw the defending champions come out on top. The first meeting happened to be Ben Mbala's season debut after fulfilling his Afrobasket commitments with Cameroon, with La Salle coming out victorious, 85-73 on September 20. The second meeting came just over a month later, with an 80-74 victory for La Salle, as well, showing poise in the endgame with the Soaring Falcons controlling things for most of it.
Aldin Ayo expects something similar in the Final Four, says "Same expectations. It will be a dogfight for sure. They are going to prepare against us."
The Soaring Falcons will need another huge afternoon from Papi Sarr, especially if both Jerrick Ahanmisi and Jerie Pingoy are not fully recovered from their respective injuries that they incurred during their matchup against Far Eastern University last week. (c/o Kim Karlo Castro)
