University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and San Sebastian College-Recoletos bounced back from their disappointing season openers to net themselves wins in the two other collegiate matches that took place at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Edgar Charcos made sure that his NCAA debut was not a fluke, as he towed the Altas to a 78-75 victory over Letran in the third game of the collegiate triple-header.

The UE transfer led the way on offense with 27 points, a couple of rebounds, and four assists, while helping anchor a defense that limited the Knights to score a couple of points in the final 7+ minutes of the game. That sterling display was capped off by not only Prince Eze and Kim Aurin denying JP Calvo a chance to tie the game with over 21 seconds left, but also with a defense that prevented Letran from getting a good clean look at a game-tying offensive play.

True freshman Jielo Razon added thirteen points, while Jeffrey Coronel and Aurin finished with twelve and ten points, respectively.

Old reliables Bong Quinto and Calvo led Letran with a combined 29 points.

Before Perpetual and Letran took to the court, the Golden Stags downed College of Saint Benilde, 85-78.

Egay Macaraya's squad rode on a strong fourth quarter to snatch the victory away from the Blazers, capped off by an RK Ilagan triple with 96 seconds remaining.

Ilagan would finish with sixteen points on 4/9 shooting from beyond the arc, while Michael Calisaan contributed a double-double with eighteen points and ten rebounds, as well as three assists and four steals.

Edward Dixon led CSB with twelve points.

The Blazers played without Yankie Haruna and Clement Leutcheu for the first half, as a result of a disciplinary benching from head coach Ty Tang. Fortunately for CSB, they managed to hang on and kept themselves deadlocked with the Golden Stags at 44 during that stretch. Haruna would finish with ten points and four rebounds, while Leutcheu ended up with six points, ten rebounds, a couple of assists, a steal, and a couple of blocks.
