The Lady Bulldogs extended their impressive streak last Sunday with a 76-62 victory over then-undefeated Adamson at the Blue Eagle Gym.
The Lady Falcons managed to establish a strong start, relying on Rhea Tacitac, Jonalyn Lacson and Jamie Alcoy to establish an early lead. But the defending champions managed to creep back into the picture, then move ahead at the half, 33-23.
NU then pulled away in the second half, relying on perimeter shooting in the third quarter from Andrea Tongco and Risa Paig, followed by inside forays by their big women in the final period to eventually establish its largest lead in 72-48.
Alcoy would lead all scorers with 21 points, while four NU Lady Bulldogs (Afril Bernardino, Paig, Rheena Itesi, and Jack Danielle Animam) contributed eleven points each.
Another team that thoroughly thrashed its opposition is La Salle. The Lady Archers crushed UP, 76-34 to open the quadruple-header.
A 14-2 run by the Taft-based dribblers to start the game kicked off the eventual rout, led by Ana Castillo's sniping from beyond the arc.
Bea Daez and Lourdes Ordoverza managed to cut the deficit to 21-14 by the end of the first period, but Camille Claro led a second quarter charge that expanded the lead to 40-23 at the half.
They would then break the game open, scoring 25 straight points to end the third and start the fourth to establish a 73-30 lead.
Claro would finish with a team-high thirteen points, while Castillo added eleven markers. Daez topscored for the Lady Maroons with ten.
Joining the Lady Maroons at the basement is FEU, after bowing to UE, 54-38.
The Lady Tamaraws continue their struggles under new head coach Bert Flores, which became more magnified with Clare Castro's ankle injury in the second quarter.
The Lady Warriors flashed their impressive defense, limiting FEU to just three points in the first quarter, eventually erecting a 26-4 lead in the second quarter.
UE would continue to assert its dominance in the second half, as it cruised its way for their second win.
Cherry Ano-os led the Lady Warriors with fifteen points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Eunique Chan and Ruthlaine Tacula each poured thirteen markers. Elaisa Adriano led the Lady Tamaraws with eleven points.
Completing the results is UST's 58-47 win over Ateneo. The Tigresses pulled away in the fourth quarter after a nip-and-tuck affair against the Lady Eagles.
