NU continues lead in UAAP HS volleyball eliminations

NU continues to impress in high school volleyball, as it remains atop both the girls and boys divisions in the UAAP High School volleyball tournament, as the second round kicked off during this past long holiday weekend.

The defending champions took out La Salle-Zobel, 25-18 25-21 and 21-15 to share the lead with UST. The Junior Tigresses dismantled UPIS, 25-14 25-10 and 25-15. Both teams tote a 6-1 record.

The Lady Spikers from Alabang did manage to notch a 25-17 25-13 25-21 win over FEU-Diliman to remain in third place at 5-3.

UE is at 4-4 after bowing to Adamson (25-22 25-17 25-15) and keeping UPIS winless (25-11 25-6 and 25-15).

Meanwhile, the Bullpups remained undefeated in the boys' division, after beating FEU-Diliman, 25-21 25-19 21-25 and 25-21.

Chasing them down are the reigning champions UE. The now 6-1 Junior Warriors manhandled UPIS, 25-9 25-13 and 25-13. Behind them are FEU-Diliman at 5-3, who did manage a 25-14 25-17 and 25-19 win over La Salle-Zobel to cancel out the loss to NU.

Season 77 runner-up Ateneo did manage to gain some ground on FEU-Diliman, after beating UST (25-18 18-25 25-20 16-25 and 15-12) and La Salle-Zobel (25-17 26-24 and 25-14). The Blue Eaglets are now tied with the Tiger Cubs in fourth with a 4-4 record.
