The winning streak of National University has stretched to 19 games, as the defending UAAP champions clobbered the University of Santo Tomas, 71-45, as part of a Thursday quadruple-header at the Blue Eagle Gym.

The Lady Bulldogs relied on a strong surge to open the third and fourth quarters to dispatch the then-undefeated Tigresses.

After allowing a basket from Shanda Anies 33 seconds into the third period, NU would go on an 18-3 run for the next six-plus minutes, erecting an 18-point lead, 43-25. Although UST would trim that lead to just nine at 44-35 by the end of the third period, the ladies of coach Patrick Aquino opened the fourth quarter on a 13-1 run to establish an insurmountable 57-36 lead before cruising to their third straight triumph.

Reigning MVP Afril Bernardino contributed twelve points, twelve rebounds, six assists, a steal, and three blocks, while Trixie Antiquera, Gemma Miranda, and Risa Paig each scored eleven markers.

Misaela Larosa had eleven points and eight rebounds for the Chris Cantonjos-coached Tigresses, while Candice Magdaluyo added ten markers, four rebounds, and six dimes.

Joining NU atop the leaderboard is Adamson, who outlasted UE, 57-49.

The Lady Falcons used a 10-2 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory. The Lady Warriors had kept themselves in the game for the most part with defense and offensive contributions from Cherry Ano-os, Eunique Chan, and Love Joy Sto. Domingo.

Myra Osano and Janille de Castro combined for 22 points to lead Adamson, while Princess Cochico secured a near triple-double with nine points, fourteen rebounds, and eleven assists.

Meanwhile, La Salle tied UST in second place after beating FEU, 54-45.

The Lady Archers rode on the hot shooting of Khate Castillo to secure their second straight victory. The guard scored twelve of her team-high nineteen points in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Tamaraws by herself in that period.

The first game of the quadruple-header saw Ateneo finally barging into the win column with a 56-43 triumph over UP. The Lady Maroons had no match against Danica Jose's 23 points, 17 rebounds, and two blocks. The second-generation baller matched UP's third quarter output of eight markers.
