The 2018 edition of NBA 3X Philippines kicked off its campaign with a new wrinkle this past weekend, as it conducted its first-ever North Luzon qualifiers at Benguet State University last August 11-12.
A hundred participating teams from across the region, including entries from Caloocan that made the trip up north, with six teams getting berths to the NBA 3X Playoffs scheduled on August 25-26 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. There was also a Celebrity Division with the various media outlets in the City of Pines serving as its participants.
The six teams that have secured spots for the NBA 3X Philippines playoff proper are the following:
U13 Boys: Team Greyhounds (Rieken Espinosa, Dreyxius Castillo, Kyle Patrick Margarata, Adam Floyd Darden)
U16 Boys: Team SLU-A (Jaudenes Parone, Dennis de Vera, Manson Lee Carantes, Francis Almazan)
U18 Boys: Team Caloocan Supremos-C (Ryan Ricasio, Raphael Jerhold Flores, Mark Francois Sapla, Jino Lacsa)
Open Boys: Team UL-Dagupan City-A (Mario Angelito Torio, Reynald Ballesteros, Robert Caasi, Jr., Julius Tiburcio)
U18 Girls: Team Balon Dagupan (Regimay Castres, Rosemarie delos Santos, Jane de Vera, Fionna Kixsha Camangeg)
Open Girls: Team Pudtol Apayao (Ruthlaine Chlaire Tacula, Raechelle Ann Sao, Ryzelle Ann Limet, Love Joy Sto. Domingo)
Qualifiers are set to resume this weekend at the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati.
The current edition of the NBA 3X Philippines is presented by AXA Philippines, with CloudFone, Gatorade, Panasonic, Rexona, PLDT, and SMART serving as official partners, while the SM Mall of Asia and Spalding act as official partners. ABS-CBN S+A, Basketball TV, and NBA Premium TV are the official media partners.
