The NCAA Season 94 collegiate tripleheader that took place last Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre was mainly highlighted by San Beda and Lyceum maintaining their unblemished records this season.
The Red Lions secured their fourth straight win by defeating Mapua, 88-70, as Javee Mocon emerged from his slump to pound the Cardinals with 22 points and sixteen rebounds, as well as four assists and three steals. He took over in the third quarter, nearly matching Mapua's output in the period in allowing the defending champions to pull away and secure the win.
Donald Tankoua added seventeen points and seven rebounds, while Robert Bolick contributed eleven points and eight assists.
The loss spoiled true freshman Warren Bonifacio's best offensive outing, as the former Red Robin scored nineteen points.
Later that afternoon, Lyceum extended their winning streak to six games, dispatching Perpetual Help, 91-77.
Last season's Most Valuable Player CJ Perez dominated the Altas, scoring 26 points and grabbing ten rebounds, as he and Jaycee Marcelino took over the final quarter to hold on to the victory after the lead was reduced to three early on in the period.
Prince Eze led Perpetual with twenty points and 18 rebounds, while true freshman Jielo Razon added nineteen markers.
Sandwiched between the two games, Emilio Aguinaldo College finally got into the win column, as they needed five more minutes to dispatch San Sebastian, 79-77.
Adamson transfer JP Maguliano stepped up for the Generals with thirty points and seventeen rebounds. His putback kickstarted a 6-0 run to close out the game, and snatch the victory away from the Golden Stags.
