The Azkals' preparations for their two major competitions hit a snag early Friday morning, as Terry Butcher's tenure as the team's head coach ends before it can really begin.
The former England international relayed his decision to step down in a statement handed to the Press Association Sport.

It was only fifty days ago when the team management officially unveiled the hiring of Butcher as the head coach, doing so hours before the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The announcement was made alongside their decision to also name Scott Cooper as a senior football adviser.
As noted from Palami, Cooper now takes over the program as they continue preparations for the AFF Suzuki Cup in November and the AFC Asian Cup in January. They are expected to have a camp in Bahrain exactly a month from now
