Games this afternoon against College of Saint Benilde inside the Letran Gym in Intramuros
2pm HS vs La Salle-Greenhills
4pm College
The NCAA on Tour heads to its fourth of five stops this season, with an afternoon doubleheader at Muralla in Intramuros, as the College of Saint Benilde visits Letran.
Both teams are fresh from grounding Jose Rizal University, with the Knights pounding them last Friday, 74-58, and the Blazers last Tuesday, 81-66.
For the hosts, this is a chance to keep themselves within close distance from pace-setting Lyceum and San Beda, who are still undefeated.
Head coach Jeff Napa hopes that the team can continue to impose their size against the Blazers, who can keep them in check thanks to Clement Leutcheu.
The big man from Cameroon is fresh from pasting the Heavy Bombers with twenty points and fourteen rebounds.
Ty Tang thinks that the outcome will be much different this time, after these two clashed in last year's edition at the same venue for the initial run of the NCAA on Tour. A win for the visitors would allow them to break a three-way tie with Arellano and forge a virtual tie for third place alongside idle Perpetual.
To kick things off in the afternoon doubleheader, La Salle-Greenhills seek to secure solo leadership in the High School tournament as they face the Squires at 2pm. A win for the defending champions will move them past Arellano and Mapua/Malayan atop the standings. All three teams tote a 3-1 record.
The Squires, on the other hand, have a chance to move back up to .500 if they can pull off the upset at home.
