National University is at the cusp of claiming the UAAP Season 78 Juniors basketball title, as they dominated La Salle-Zobel, 78-58, in Game 1 of the Finals held on Friday afternoon at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
Head coach Jeff Napa was pleased with how the Bullpups implemented the gameplan for this game, which saw them lead by as much as 31 points.
Justine Baltazar recorded his twelfth double-double of the season with 15 points and 27 rebounds to lead last season's losing finalists. The Mabalacat native also added four blocks, as well as an assist and a steal. John Lloyd Clemente led all scorers with sixteen markers.
Justine still acknowledged that they still have one game to finish, which is set to take place next week.
Newly-minted MVP Aljun Melecio led the Junior Archers with 15 points on 6/21 shooting, while adding seven rebounds and six assists. Marco Sario and MR Romero each added ten points.
