Mindanao's representation at the 2024 SMART-NBTC National Finals has been secured with the results from the quarterfinals of their Regional Championship at the Sarangani Capitol Gym.
Two of those teams are based in Davao City, with Bullet Customs Brokerage-Prime Bistro defeating El Kids Esperanza, 82-58, and Toyomoto Auto Supply toppling Cor Jesu College x El Granjero of Digos, 79-68. Starring for the former is Keith Francis Marquez, while the latter touts Andre Lumanag.
Notre Dame of Midsayap claimed the third berth after Jeffrey Malacapag and the Rams defeated Breakthrough Basketball of Tagum, 85-77. while Vince Acut and Elihu Alcover led the Xavier-Ateneo de Cagayan-Sealcor snapped up the last spot after an 88-83 triumph over Team Harbor Pilot Sports of Misamis Occidental.
These four teams join the four teams who locked in their slots during the North Luzon RC in Laoag: Yengskivel Sportswear (CAMANAVA), Philippine College of Science and Technology-Calasiao (Pangasinan), Pampanga Lanters, and 1 San Rafael (Bulacan).
Four more teams are set to be confirmed in each of the two remaining RCs, the Visayas leg in Bacolod on February 16-18 and the South Luzon leg in Lucena on March 1-3.
The other berths for the National Finals scheduled between March 18-24 are to be allocated to the finalists of the UAAP and the NCAA's high school competitions, teams from the NBTC's Global Partners, and a couple of wildcard entries.
