In leading La Salle to a victory over arch-rivals Ateneo at the Mall of Asia Arena this past weekend, Kim Kianna Dy was bestown the latest Player of the Week nod by the UAAP Press Corps, over the University of the East duo of Shaya Adorador and Kath Arado, Far Eastern University captain Bernadeth Pons, National University captain Jaja Santiago, and Tots Carlos of the University of the Philippines.
Dy powered the defending champions to a 25-20 25-17 24-26 25-20 victory, contributing a season-high 21 points, off eleven spikes, seven blocks, and three aces. She had vowed to make up for her lackluster effort against Adamson, and her bounce back performance helped the Lady Spikers into a tie for second place in the standings at 5-2.
According to head coach Ramil de Jesus, Dy sent her a message apologizing for her performance and vowed to make up for it. De Jesus shares, "Eto naman, pinakita naman niya."
As for Dy, she says, "I think, coming from a loss kasi, kailangan talaga naming mag-bounce back. And we need to get that confidence again."
