Pinoy Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA All-Stars rewarded with Shenzhen trip

The Pinoy 2015 Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA All-Stars, as well as the 2015 Coach of the Year Winners are set to make the trip this weekend to China for the upcoming NBA Global Games in Shenzhen between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Charlotte Hornets, joining 56 of their counterparts from the ASEAN region.

This particular opportunity to watch the Shenzhen preseason game is part of the program's commitment to provide a fun and enriching NBA experience for its top participants. They would also have the chance to play against the ASEAN counterparts, meet NBA players / legends, as well as be able to check out some of the local landmarks.

Representing the Jr. NBA All-Stars are La Salle-Greenhills' Robert Alomar Castro and Lloyd Raphael Oliva, La Salle-Zobel's Luis Sebastian Locsin and Edrian Custodio, La Salle-Lipa's Joshua Garing, Ateneo's Miguel Luigi Santos, Corpus Christi College (Cagayan de Oro)'s Ernest John Felicilda and Jeffy Mailim, St. Albert the Great (Dagupan)'s Christian Allen Magno, and St. John's Institute (Bacolod)'s Daniel Anthony Coo.

Representing the Jr. WNBA All-Stars are Diliman Preparatory School (Quezon City)'s Nelia Jean David and Micaela Denise Pentecostes, Paranaque Science High School's Kyla Flores, Amazing Grace School (Laguna)'s Luisa Krizelle San Juan, and Assumption College (Davao)'s Heart Pagara Donor.

Accompanying the All-Stars are the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA Coaches of the Year in Gabriel Victor Tan of Lucena City and Sunshine Echavez of Puerto Princesa City.

The trip puts a bow on the 2015 Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA Program, in which over 2,500 aspirants participated from all over the country. Since its establishment in 2007, the said program has reached out to over 100,000 kids, parents, and coaches.

According to Alaska Milk Corporation's President and CEO Wilfred Steven Uytengsu, they "expect to reach more young aspiring basketball players by bringing the Jr. NBA program to more cities nationwide, and making this more inclusive with fun, engaging activities for everyone."

The Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA is the NBA's flagship youth development program aimed to promote basketball participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, and an active lifestyle. It is in line with Alaska's campaign to help foster a healthy lifestyle for Pinoy families with proper nutrition and an active lifestyle, especially with the "Nutrition. Action. Champion." program set to counter the growth of overweight and undernourished Pinoy children.
