La Salle swept its way through the eliminations in UAAP women's table tennis at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Wednesday.
The Lady Paddlers from Taft eked out a 3-2 win over Far Eastern University to complete a 14-game sweep of the elimination round, thus securing a finals berth with the thrice-to-beat advantage.
They had been dominant in the second round, securing 3-0 scorelines throughout until this matchup.
In spite of the defeat, the Morayta-based paddlers finished second with an 11-3 record. They already secured a twice-to-beat advantage and will await the winner of the stepladder playoff between UP and UST slated later.
On the men's bracket, La Salle topped the eliminations with a 3-2 victory over UST, finishing with a 13-1 record and the twice-to-beat advantage against fourth seeds NU.
In spite of the defeat, the Tiger Paddlers ended up with a 12-2 record and will have the twice to beat advantage against FEU in the Final Four.
