Rubilen Amit takes the 2013 Women's 10-ball crown

With the home crowd watching and cheering her on a Monday afternoon that stretched to the early evening, Filipina pool artist Rubilen Amit claimed the 2013 Yalin Women's 10 Ball Championship at the Newport Mall in the Resorts World Manila complex in Pasay City.

The 2009 champion came from behind to beat Tsai Pei Chen of Chinese-Taipei, 9-7 in the semifinals, before facing the 2011 champion, Kelly Fisher of Great Britain in the final to guarantee a first two-time winner of the event.

Amit trailed Fisher, 2-0, then 3-1 and then 6-4 during the match, but missed opportunities allowed the Cebuana to stay in striking distance and even take the lead at one point.

But on rack 15 with the match tied at 7, Fisher commits a violation that gives the point to Amit, then on the next rack, she opened with a scratch, allowing Amit to clean up and go "on the hill" at 9-7.

Completing the trifecta was Fisher unable to convert a makeable 8-ball, allowing Amit to finish the rack, the match and the championship.
