Locking in the third postseason berth in the EASL Final Four is the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, after they defeated Hong Kong Eastern, 87-61 on Wednesday night.
Chun-Hsiang Lu led all scorers with 33 points, converting five three-pointers to match HK's team total, towing them to their fourth win in Pool A.
The P.LEAGUE+ runners-up won their first three games in impressive fashion before suffering back-to-back defeats to Hiroshima, setting the scene for this particular fixture.
By finishing second in the group, they are set to face off against the other B.LEAGUE team in the EASL, the Ryukyu Golden Kings, who ended up first in Pool B. The matchup will be the second game of the semifinal doubleheader on March 7, which will take place in Macau.
It also means the P.LEAGUE+ will get representation for consecutive EASL Final Four campaigns, following the New Taipei Kings.
Speaking of the Kings, they are seeking to make their return trip to the postseason if they can defeat the Meralco Bolts next week in their home turf.
This season's EASL champion nets a $1 million reward, with $500,000 to the runner-up and $250,000 awaits the winner of the third-place game.
