Last June 22, Lions Nation MMA celebrated its first anniversary with a simple salu-salo at its base of operations, the Landslide Martial Arts Training Center in La Trinidad, Benguet.
In marking their anniversary, its Co-Founder and Chairman Eduard Folayang says, "We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in just one year. Our success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of our team. As we enter our second year, we are excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead."
Put together by Filipino mixed martial artist staples Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario, and Joshua Pacio, the outfit did not take long to become a powerhouse in the local and regional scene. Snapping up some of the best names out there like Danny Kingad, Jeremy Pacatiw, Edward Kelly, and Stephen Loman, they also managed to secure their first champion, as Pacio reclaimed the ONE Strawweight MMA World Title last March against Jarred Brooks during ONE 166: Qatar.
Other successes from Lions Nation MMA included victories by both Folayang and Pacatiw in ONE Championship, as well as taking home eleven medals at the 2023 ASJJF Manila Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
Its younger members, split between Young Lions and Cubs sub-categories, have also impressed in their participation at national and regional competitions.
Lions Nation MMA seeks to sustain its success with its upcoming schedule moving forward, and in line with such, they are set to reveal an upcoming team brand partnership that would help with their training and development efforts.
