Adamson University begins its quest for another title defense this Wednesday afternoon, as Game 1 of the UAAP Season 86 Softball finals takes place at the UP Baseball Field.

The Lady Falcons completed a sweep of the double round-robin eliminations, extending their winning streak to fifteen matches, dating back from last year.

Seasoned mentor Ana Santiago says, "... Basta kami, lalaban kami ng honest na laro at pinakita namin 'yung kanina. We'll prepare for the Finals and lalaban lang kami."

The defending champions have Finals MVP Glory Alonzo and rising pitcher April Minanga as options on the mound, while providing the bats are Angelu Gabriel and Khrisha Cantor.

Serving as the foil is sub-hosts the University of the Philippines, who needed a walkoff 3-2 victory in the playoff against the University of Santo Tomas. The Fighting Maroons are back in the finals again after falling short last season, hoping things will be different this time.

Mentor Ron Pagkaliwagan shares, "This is the break we have been waiting for. This is what we have worked for the whole year; this is the fruit of our hard labor. We'll get ready and let's see sa Finals."

UP will rely on last season's MVP Nickole dela Cruz and Danica Aquino to jumpstart their offense with KC Valino to backstop their pitching.
