Far Eastern University has secured the commitment of Janrey Pasaol on Saturday, as the guard will remain a Tamaraw from high school to college.
JR averaged 15.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 2.4 steals for the Baby Tamaraws, who clinched the UAAP Season 85 high school basketball title over Adamson in the finals. The younger brother of current Meralco Bolt and UAAP fan favorite Alvin also was named into the league's Mythical Team.
Pasaol will be the next in the long line of talented ballhandlers wearing the green and gold, which includes Denok Miranda, assistant coach Johnny Abarrientos, RR Garcia, Terrence Romeo, RJ Abarrientos, and incumbent L-Jay Gonzales.
The 18-year old's scoring prowess, combined with a court general's court vision allowing him to set up his teammates will come in handy for a Tamaraws squad fresh from missing out on the Final Four for the first time in eight seasons.
Miranda, who was named as FEU's new head coach, says about his newest prospect, "Malaki matutulong niya sa team, lalo na alam na niya yung system ko."
