The College of Saint Benilde hopes to extend their winning streak in women's volleyball when they face off against Mapua Tuesday afternoon at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The Lady Blazers extended their run to sixteen straight matches this past Saturday, but that was tested against a game Lyceum side, as they needed the full five sets to dispatch the Lady Pirates, 22-25 25-16 16-25 25-13.
Helping engineer the comeback in that matchup are Cloanne Mondoñedo, Jessa Dorog, and Gayle Pascual. Pascual, who was crowned as last season's Finals MVP, is currently fourth in the league in total scoring as she and the rest of the team tries to make up for the absence of last season's MVP in Mycah Go.
Speaking of five sets, the Lady Cardinals have survived their last three meetings that have lasted the full route, as they tote a 4-1 overall record, tied for second-best alongside the University of Perpetual Help Dalta.
This includes their 21-25 19-25 25-23 25-21 15-11 win over Arellano on Saturday, anchored by the efforts of Roxie dela Cruz and Hannah de Guzman.
In the other women's volleyball matchup, Lyceum seeks to bounce back from their defeat by facing Emilio Aguinaldo College at noon.
