Sarangani secured passage into the quarterfinals of the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 President's Cup powered by TM.
After their struggles in the opening two legs, the Marlins completed a sweep in Pool A at the INSPIRE Sports Academy.
Escaping with a 21-15 win over Big Boss Cement-Porac to open their campaign, the Marlins were taken to the limit by Pasig-Sta. Lucia but held on to a 21-19 victory.
Pamboy Raymundo scored an and-one to give Sarangani a 19-18 lead, with JC Escalambre moving the Marlins to the hill at 20-18.
Cedric Ablaza pulled one back, but Raymundo's up-and-under for his ninth point sealed the sweep with around twenty seconds left.
Paul Sanga shared after the game, "Slow start ulit kami pero nung nakita namin na five points na yung lamang nila. Hindi na kami tumigil, sa awa ng diyos nananalo." The FEU alumnus netted five points for the Marlins.
Palayan City kept their hopes of entering the knockout rounds with a 21-12 victory over Petra Cement-Roxas. JP Sarao led the Capitals with seven points, with Bobby Balucanag adding four markers.
Also entering the quarterfinals are Zamboanga Peninsula and Bacolod.
The Valientes clinched their spot with a RR de Leon two-pointer to defeat Pagadian City, 21-18 with over three minutes left.
The Master Sardines-back quartet dealt Bicol-Paxful 3x3 Pro its second loss in pool play with a 21-15 win.
