BWB Asia Camp |
The morning session centered on warm-ups followed by skills development drills and workouts with the coaches. Afterwards, the campers were split into teams to proceed with individual practices in order to refine their offensive and defensive schemes. They then played scrimmages against each other.
Concluding the day is a coaching clinic with sixty local coaches, with NBA assistants Bret Brielmaier, Darvin Ham, Ryan Saunders, and Mike Wells sharing their knowhow.
Here are some thoughts from those who were at Day 3:
Dwight Powell: The campers have been great, they are competitive, playing hard, and are listening learning all the time. From the day they came here till today, there is a lot of improvement in their skills and drill work and there is an overall development visible. They know better how to move without the ball, where they need to be on the floor and transition, now that they are playing as a team.
Ham: The camp has been great, some strong talent here. We have conducted a number of workouts to improve not just player skills, but also their decision-making during in-game situations. Most of the games played have also been close which is a testament to the level of players here.
Wells: The campers are all great and they are trying to learn and listen and playing hard so it’s been a great time. Most of them are trying to figure out the game because it’s fast but they are all coachable.
Today marks the last day of the camp, with one of participants set to be named as its MVP.
