Recapping Day 2 of BWB Asia 2018

BWB Asia

The second day of the tenth edition of the Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp took place yesterday at the NBA Academy India in Delhi, centering on life skills sessions, drills, and five-on-five scrimmages.

First thing on yesterday's agenda was having NBA assistant coaches Ryan Saunders (Minnesota) and Darvin Ham (Atlanta), as well as NBA Academies Women's Program Global Technical Director Ruth Riley address the campers, emphasizing on the importance of teamwork and communication.

Afterwards, the campers were subdivided into teams for practice drills, which eventually then led to the scrimmages that league and team personnel would then observe.

Aside from those, there was a NBA Cares event involving youth from the NBA Basketball Schools, where the NBA players conducted a clinic. The NBA Basketball Schools allow for the basketball talent to be development in the way the NBA does, while also highlighting positive NBA values of integrity, teamwork, respect, and innovation.

Here are some quotes from Day 2:

Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Bret Breilmaier: The talent level, the kids, how hard they play and the way they play together is impressive. The talent of kids from all the countries is very good. We are lucky to work with these kids and trying help them to improve their skills so hopefully they can take that back to their teams.

BWB Asia camper Princepal Singh (NBA Academy India): It’s a great feeling to have the camp here in India. At home, there is always an extra motivation to do your best. But having said that, this camp also is a great opportunity for Indian campers to learn from the best and see where they stand.

BWB Asia camper Amaan Sandhu (NBA Academy India): You don’t get to play alongside the best in Asia everyday, and also train under the best in the world. Basketball Without Borders is a great platform for all campers to showcase their talent and take in as much as possible from the best in the business.
