The 94th season of the NCAA resumes with its basketball action today with a pair of doubleheaders, with the collegiate doubleheader seeing San Beda and Perpetual looking to consolidate their hold in the top half of the standings.

The Red Lions are seeking their sixth straight victory to kick off their campaign, as they face San Sebastian in the final scheduled game of the day at 4pm, while the Altas face Mapua just before that at 2pm.

San Beda is fresh from a scintillating 80-76 overtime victory against traditional rivals Letran last week, while the Golden Stags seek to end their first round on a positive note after a tumultuous stretch that included losing RK Ilagan for the past few matches.

As for Perpetual, they are fresh from fending off a potential upset bid from Jose Rizal University less than 48 hours ago, needing Jielo Razon's clutch three-pointers to join the Knights at 4-2 with a 78-72 win. A win today would move them into solo third place, and according to head coach Frankie Lim, he believes that his offense will be key in securing the win later.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are looking to address their tailspin and are hoping to get their postseason hopes back on track with a victory this afternoon.

In the high school ranks, a potential Final Four preview could be in store with Mapua/Malayan facing Perpetual at 10am. The Red Robins are in solo second at 5-2, while the Junior Altas are half-a-game behind at 4-2. Following that juicy matchup is San Beda looking to extend their current winning streak to five matches as they go up against San Sebastian at noon.
