Ang Liga heads into homestretch

The semifinal picture in the Ang Liga tournament could potentially become clearer with the set of matches this weekend at the football field inside the La Salle Science and Technology Complex in Canlubang.

On Saturday, San Beda will face Don Bosco in the lone Div II game of the weekend at 8am, followed by UE vs San Beda at 1pm and EAC vs Ateneo at 3pm.

Both the Red Warriors and the Blue Eagles return to same pitch the next day for a morning doubleheader against separate opposition, with the former facing Lyceum at 8am and the latter facing Perpetual at 10am.

Wins by both UE and Ateneo would put them closer into the race for the last two available spots in the Div I semifinals, as UP and NU have already secured the first two available slots. Ateneo is set to face off against the tourney's cellar dwellers, while UE has to deal with fellow postseason hopefuls.

San Beda is also in the thick of things for the postseason and a win would put them level with idle CSB.

Meanwhile, the Red Cubs looks to finish its prelims stint with a win against the Greywolves in Div II, already secure with a semifinal bid.
