San Beda came out on top against Colegio de San Juan de Letran on Sunday afternoon, earning a 68-58 victory in the marquee game of the day in San Juan for the NCAA Season 101 men's basketball tournament.
Head coach Yuri Escueta shared about their rivalry, noting that "There’s really no extra motivation but every time you play Letran you know they’re a strong team that you really have to prepare for."
He adds, "I even look at them (Knights) as an all-star team so I tip my hats off to my guys for playing defense and guarding our defensive targets."
Janti Miller impressed in his first game within this rivalry, leading all scorers with 22 points, while Bryan Sajonia was the only other Red Lion in double figures with eleven markers.
San Beda played without their captain Yukien Andrada, who sat out due to a shoulder sprain.
