Streetdance to conclude UAAP Season 86


With the University Athletic Association of the Philippines set to put a bow on their 86th season, the league takes to the dance floor to hold its final competition, the UAAP Street Dance competition.

Dance crews from its member-schools are set to battle at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday, with the University of Santo Tomas hoping to successfully defend both of its crowns.

Prime claimed its first street title by fending off National University Dance Company with a Lego-inspired theme, while Galvanize made history as the first-ever champion in the high school division.

La Salle Dance Company-Street is hoping to secure its fifth title in the history of the competition, the most amongst the field, while the University of the Philippines Street Dance Club is hoping to join LSDC-Street as four-time champions.

The competition commences at 3pm.

Afterwards, the league will hold its closing ceremonies, in which they will honor its outstanding student-athletes with the Athlete of the Year nods, both in individual and team competitions.

The UAAP will also honor its athlete-scholars from all eight member-schools.

It will hold a simple turnover ceremonies, as the league will now transfer hosting responsibilities from the University of the East in Season 86 to the University of the Philippines in Season 87.
