Ateneo finishes with a split in its Holy Land sojourn, as they fall short against Eliztur Eito Ashkelon on Monday night at the Zysman Arena, 81-73.
Trailing by seven at the half, the Blue Eagles were forced to a slow start to the third quarter, which saw the Israeli side lead by as much as twelve heading into the final period.
Ateneo would battle back, cutting the deficit to five with 119 seconds left after a Forthsky Padrigao free throw, 72-67.
However, multiple turnovers doomed the comeback and sent the Blue Eagles to defeat.
Yuval Haim led all scorers with seventeen points, while adding four assists, a couple of rebounds, and a steal. Alon Sapir added fifteen points and five rebounds for the second-tier side.
Ange Kouame led Ateneo with sixteen points and nine rebounds, with Padrigao and Chris Koon netting thirteen points each.
Dave Ildefonso was limited to eight points on 5/13 shooting after his 27-point outburst a couple of days earlier against Ramat HaSharon.
The Blue Eagles are set to fly back to the Philippines on September 7.
