Korean side Changwon LG Sakers have once again visited the Philippines as they prepare for the upcoming Korean Basketball League season.
As part of their visit, they spent it going up against teams from both the PBA and the UAAP, helping those teams also prepare for their respective campaigns.
Sakers guard Lee Gwan Hee, who once played in the Philippines for Phoenix when the league once adopted the Asian reinforcement quota, shares, "I think both our PBA and KBL (experience) made it possible to level up in our playing field."
The KBL just installed an Asian quota for the coming season, and Changwon has taken advantage by snapping up Justin Gutang. The former student-athlete from the College of Saint Benilde says, "It has been amazing so far, it’s a blessing."
Before their friendly against World University Basketball Series champions Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippines subsidiary of LG Electronics, which serve as Changwon's major sponsor, handed over LG Puricare Wearable Air Purifiers that the team can use during their visit here. Overseeing the handover are LG Philippines Managing Director Sungjae Kim and Product Director Changsoo Jang.
Kim shares about the Sakers' visit, "We can’t wait to see more of these events in the future. Aside from
honing their skills on the court, each team also gets exposed to
different cultures."
