In a simple statement earlier this morning, the UAAP through its Season 81 President Nilo Ocampo, postponed the basketball matches scheduled tomorrow at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
The statement reads:
After due consultation and considering what appears to be a severe weather disturbance, the UAAP deems it best for everyone's interests to cancel the basketball games tomorrow Saturday, September 15, 2018
Had the games pushed through, it would have featured this quadruple header:
UST vs La Salle and Adamson vs NU in women's basketball
Ateneo vs FEU and Adamson vs La Salle in men's basketball
No update yet has been made regarding the Sunday doubleheader between UE and NU and UST and UP that will take place at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
This came a day after the UAAP released a statement through the University of Santo Tomas' Institute of Physical Education and Athletics that the league rescheduled its weekend chess matches at the UST Quadricentennial Pavillon to September 19 due to weather conditions relating to Super Typhoon Mangkhut (also known as Ompong).
