Men's football matches today at the FEU-Diliman artificial pitch:
1 p.m. – NU vs UST
3 p.m. – FEU vs Ateneo
1 p.m. – NU vs UST
3 p.m. – FEU vs Ateneo
UAAP collegiate men's football is set to resume later this afternoon at the artificial field inside the campus of FEU-Diliman, with National University and the University of Santo Tomas tangling in the first game, followed by hosts Far Eastern University against Ateneo de Manila.
NU and UST face off first in what amounts to be a virtual do-or-die game, with both sides facing the prospect of being eliminated in the postseason with a defeat. The Bulldogs remain in striking distance in fifth place, but a stinging 5-1 defeat to FEU widened the gap to four points, while the Golden Booters are still mathematically in the hunt, provided they win out and if the defending champions lose out.
In the second game, Ateneo and FEU seek to move into first place with a win. The defending champions are in fourth place with 21 points, and a win would allow them to be level on points with current leaders UP, with the edge in goal difference in their favor. The Blue Booters, on the other hand, are in solo third place with 22 points. A win here vaults them into solo first. At the same time, it would avenge their 2-0 first round defeat.
With the UAAP high school finals set to kick off on Friday afternoon, the telecast for these two football games will now be LIVE on Sports+Action instead of its customer schedule.
