OMNI Cup ready for a "Fight to the Finish" in July

The OMNI Cup
Coming off a successful launch a few months ago, the OMNI Cup is set to return for the second edition of their football tournament in a few weeks.

Called OMNI Cup: Fight to the Finish, the one-day, seven-a-side tournament will take place on July 13 at the McKinley-Hill Stadium. It will feature 24 teams split into two divisions of twelve.

Division 1 is open to all athletes, while Division 2 is of the beginner-intermediate variety, which rules out those who have played top tier football in the country, whether in the UFL, the ill-fated PPL, and the ongoing PFL.

The competition is of the co-ed variety, as league rules mandate at least a female athlete is on the field at all times. Division 1 requires one female, while Division 2 requires three.

The first edition back in March featured Suicide Squad Goons topping Division 1, while Kickstart FC claimed Division 2.

A new element in the OMNI Cup is an all-star 11-a-side exhibition, which will have player representatives from all teams involved taking part in this special matchup.

The OMNI Cup: Fight to the Finish is an offshoot of OMNI Electrical and Lighting's goal of engaging people to have a more active lifestyle. Serving as event partners for the tournament are Head and Shoulders Philippines, MADs Essentials: Food for the Skin, Underground Football, and Suicide Squad FC, with media partners Manila Bulletin, Fox Sports Philippines, and Balita Sports.

More details on the OMNI Cup can be found on their Facebook page.
