Ballroom returns in UAAP Season 81

It all begins here.
With the action set to wind down for their 81st season, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will hold its second Ballroom Formation Dance Competition on Friday afternoon, May 3, at the Quadricentennial Pavilion inside the University of Santo Tomas campus in Espana, Manila.

Ballroom makes its return as a demonstration event for the UAAP, after making its debut a couple of seasons ago, as a new project by then-hosts UST as part of the league's Opening Ceremonies. After not being held last year, current hosts National University brought it back for this season. As a demonstration sport, the results will not count in the General Classification standings.

For this version of the competition, there are two categories: Standard and Latin Ballroom. Three schools are set to participate: the University of Santo Tomas, Far Eastern University, and the University of the Philippines.

UP returns as the sport's inaugural champions in both categories, with UST seeking to win the title on its home turf.

Even with a smaller field, all three schools vow to bring their respective A-games and wow the crowd with their smooth dance moves.
