Rescheduled matches highlight Ang Liga this week

Preseason football resumes this week with two matches originally scheduled last September, but were rescheduled due to an unplayable field

This afternoon at 3pm, Div II action takes place with the resumption of Ateneo against Perpetual at the Moro Lorenzo Field inside Ateneo de Manila. The match had been suspended as a result of the weather conditions that forced the field inside the San Beda campus to be unplayable. The Altalettes had been leading 1-0 as of the stoppage, and both they and the Blue Eaglets need to win this match to put pressure on Malayan Colleges-Laguna and even Don Bosco Technical Colleges as these two latter schools are set to face other at an undetermined date.

The other postponed matchup from that date sees the University of the Philippines go up against the the University of the East, is now slated to take place this Wednesday at the McKinley-Hill Football Field in Taguig.

The Maroon Booters are looking to secure the top seed in the Div I postseason, as a win will officially clinch that spot. Otherwise, it leaves the door open for idle College of Saint Benilde to take advantage, provided the Blazers win out their remaining three games.

Meanwhile, the Red Warriors are looking to complete their preseason on a winning note, already eliminated from contention with just seven points in eight matches.
