Philippines Football League Finals Series cast now official

The first Finals Series
After Global Cebu FC's 2-0 victory over Ceres-Negros FC earlier this week, the regular season portion of the Philippines Football League has concluded, with all eight participating clubs playing fourteen matches each at home and away, totaling 112 overall for this portion of the inaugural season.

Out of this, the top four teams have qualified for the inaugural edition of the Finals Series. FC Meralco Manila finished with the best regular season record at 58 points. As a result of their loss to conclude the season, the Busmen ended up one point behind at 57 points for second place. Kaya FC-Makati and Global each finished with 47 points, but Kaya ended up in third place due to a superior goal difference.

The PFL has officially announced its schedule for the first phase of the Finals Series, with the first legs taking place this weekend, with the second legs taking place simultaneously at 7pm on December 9.

For the 1 vs 4 matchup, Global hosts the Sparks on December 2 at 7pm for the first leg. Both legs for this matchup have been designated to take place at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The club released a statement last night about having to play two "road matches:"
Global Cebu FC regrets to inform everybody that due to the unavailability of the CCSC pitch on the assigned match date for the semi-finals, the PFL has instructed the club to secure an alternative venue for the game.

We had requested for the rescheduling of the 1st leg on a weekday date so that we can play our game in Cebu, but such was not approved. Hence, the club has no other recourse but to play at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

We apologize to our home fans for this unfortunate development.
As for the 2 vs 3 matchup, Kaya FC-Makati hosts the Busmen on December 3 at the University of Makati Stadium, with a 4pm kickoff. The second leg will take place at Ceres' home ground, the Pana-ad Park and Stadium.

Whoever wins the first phase of the Finals Series will face off for the opportunity for the PFL title on December 16. The losers also will face other on the same date. Venue will be dependent on the results.

Philippine Football Federation President Mariano V. Araneta Jr. sent his regards to the four teams in the Finals Series, says "I would like to congratulate the four teams that have qualified to the Philippines Football League Finals Series and at the same time wish them good luck. What started out as a collective dream then has become a reality; we are near the day where the first professional club of the Philippines Football League will be crowned champions.
