Davao Aguilas FC set for their home debut

Davao Aguilas FC
The only Mindanao side in the Philippines Football League, Davao Aguilas FC is all set to finally host their first home game of the season tomorrow, May 14.

Fresh from their 1-1 draw against fellow newcomer Ilocos United FC, they will be facing JPV Marikina FC at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City.

The squad is already creating a following in the region, with fans already seen waiting for them when they arrived in Davao last Friday.

Head Coach Gary Philips says, "We are excited to be here in Davao and we are looking forward to our first home game and we hope our fans will turn up in numbers and support the team. We are all excited, we can't wait to see you on Sunday."

Assisting him in the team is fellow Aussie James Fraser, who played for Australia in the 1974 World Cup.

The squad is composed of a combination of locals (Nico Macapal, Kim Versales), former senior national team mainstays (Jason Cordova, Nate Burkey), U22 standouts (Van Rey Diaz, Richard Talaroc, Justin Cheng, Dylan De Bruycker), and foreigners (Marko Trkulja, Nikola Grubjesic).

Tickets for the game are available at the stadium, with the Facebook page of the team (www.facebook.com/DAFCofficial) offering fans a chance at free tickets.
